MATERIAL AND CONSTRUCTION SPECIFICATIONS
BONDED FOAM
Folding mats for indoor use in physical education programs where a softer surface is desired. Firmer and more durable than virgin urethane foam. 7.5 lb. density. Note: there is no significant difference in softness when touched, in comparison with 4-6 lb. density bonded foam. There is a significant difference in the life of 7.5 lb. density over less dense 4 or 6 lb. bonded foam. Heavier than polyethylene and polyurethane mats.
CROSS-LINKED POLYETHYLENE FOAM
The dense closed cell keeps the foam from bottoming out and the crosslink gives it a softer feel and makes it last longer. Light weight and prevents structural breakdown. 2.2 lbs. per cubic foot density. Firm feel.
ETHAFOAM [trademark polyethylene foam]
A dense closed cell polyethylene foam. Density: 2.2 lbs. per cubic ft. Known for its shock absorbency, light weight, and moisture resistance. When produced by Dow Chemical this foam carries their trade name-Ethafoam.
POLYETHYLENE FOAM
A dense closed cell polyethylene foam. Its 2.2 lbs. per cubic foot density provides excellent shock absorbency. It is light weight, moisture resistant and durable. Firm feel. For use in folding mats where a firmer surface is desired. Produced without trade name. Generic.
POLYURETHANE FOAM
An open cell polyurethane foam, used for cushioning material that comes in a density of 1.8 lbs. per cubic foot. Because of its softness, thicker foam is used to prevent "bottoming out". Not as durable as the bonded foam but lighter in weight with a softer feel.
****COVER MATERIAL SPECIFICATIONS****
All of our gymnastic mats and landing mats have the same durable, heavyduty cover material. It comes in a thickness of 0.6mm , 20 oz. per square yard vinyl knife-coated nylon material unless specified in product description. The 630 D nylon fabric has a 16 x 16 thread count. The surface has a slip resistant finish. It's material is fire retardant, anti fungal, and washable.
CONSTRUCTION
Inverted, double stitched seams sewn with #6 industrial duty nylon thread. Gymnastic mats have a standard 2' wide panel with a 2' fold. Accordion style hinges provide a smooth, safe surface when mat is laid out flat. Landing pad mats have 1 or 2 folds depending on size of mat. Velcro is 2" wide industrial quality, standard on 2 ends of the power, primo, super, and ultra series. Optional velcro on all four sides available. All stress points, such as handle attachment, are sewn with double layer material for reinforcement. Folding wall mats have handles sewn on the sides from which the mats may be hung. Handles are triple thickness cover material with double stitched inverted seams, reinforced at mat attachment.
COLORS
We stock blue and ship blue when no color is specified. Other colors are available upon special order. Special color orders require 50% deposit and cannot be returned or cancelled once the order has been placed with the manufacturer. Special colors require up to a 90 day delivery time depending on manufacturer's production schedules. Supreme Series mats may be ordered in alternating [2-3] colors as well as one solid color. Blue, Green, Red, Yellow-Gold. Other colors at additional cost. Note: Samples are available for your inspection. They
show the quality of material, workmanship and construction which carries a 3 year guarantee.
